Welcome to Martindale Artworks, the artistic world of Denny Martindale. My primary focus for the past 17+ years has been custom pet portraits in pastel. These are hand-drawn in charcoal on hard, archival quality boards, to which I then apply layers of pastels for color. I usually work from photographs, as animals are not the most cooperative creatures in this regard. I also do landscapes, and have branched out to include watercolors, oils and acrylics as well as an occasional mural. You will notice a section titled ‘Miscellaneous Paintings’. These are paintings I have done on a myriad of surfaces, from an old door to horse troughs, buckets to metal tubs, and more. These items are done in latex house paint and sealed with spar urethane for protection.
