'Boston's Garden'
pastel on board, 12" x 9"
private collection, Tennessee, USA
Boston showed up at my clients home one day and quickly claimed it as his own. He was a large Mackerel Tabby cat and he absolutely loved people and other animals. He also loved to chaperone the puppies and kittens his owners occasionally rescued. One of his favorite things to do was to play along (and occasionally in) the creek behind the house. He was the only cat I have ever met that did not mind getting it's feet wet. His owner wanted him with flowers around him in his portrait so I also included a yellow butterfly which is reminiscent of her late father. My client said when her father, who was a veterinarian, went to heaven, as she left the funeral service a yellow butterfly kept surrounding her. This happened again a few days later with a yellow butterfly at her home. She was very happy to have it in this custom pastel pet portrait.
