'The Basset Case'
pastel, 14" x 11"
$500 matted and framed
Beauregard was a rather large Basset Hound and loved everyone. We lived at the end of the road out in the country and on most occasions in order to get in or out, you had to pass Beauregard. Or should I say, move him out of the way. From the time his owners rescued him and brought him home until they moved, Beauregard stood guard across the road, literally. Fortunately there wasn't
much traffic but the road was narrow. Therefore we most likely were unable to go around him so we would put the vehicle in park, jump out and usher Beauregard into his yard. He quickly taught everyone that we needed to take him far enough that we could beat him to the road so we could have time to carry on. At this point, upon realizing his defeat, his long face would grow longer and he would wait for the next friend to drive down the road. I just had to capture his look in the "14 x 11" pastel portrait.
